Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A with 16MP Selfie Camera Launched in China, Pricing Starts for Rs. 6,999

Xiaomi’s co-founder, Lin Bin has been teasing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A smartphone from the last couple of weeks. As announced earlier, Xiaomi has officially launched the selfie-focused Redmi Note 5A today in China. The device comes with metal finish body and comes in two different variants. Both the variants are currently available to pre-order exclusively in China. Talking about the pricing, the Redmi Note 5A with 2GB RAM is priced at 699 Yuan (approx Rs. 6,999), while the 3GB RAM variant costs 899 Yuan. It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI 9 out of the box.
It sports a 5.5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and comes protected by Corning Gorilla Glass on the top. The base variant of the Redmi Note 5A comes with Snapdragon 425 quad-core and includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the high-end variant is powered by Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor and comes coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Both the variants come with dedicated MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. Only the 3GB RAM variant sports the fingerprint sensor, it is placed on the rear of the device.
In the camera department, the Redmi Note 5A features a 13MP sensor on the rear with LED flash. However, the 16MP selfie camera with LED flash is only limited to the 3GB RAM variant.
