After debuting the Android world with the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 smartphones, HDM Global launched the flagship smartphone dubbed Nokia 8 earlier this month in London. The smartphone will go on sale starting next month in Europe, Asia, and few other markets. However, the company has confirmed not to make the Nokia 8 available in the U.S and China. Interestingly, China is the first market to see the launch of HMD Global made Nokia smartphone. However, the leaks suggest the company might launch the even more advanced version of the Nokia 8 in both these markets.

While there is no official confirmation, the advanced Nokia 8 might sport 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage instead of 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Most of the flagship in China offer 6GB of RAM as standard and there are also smartphones like Nubia Z17 and OnePlus 5 with 8GB of RAM. China is the largest smartphone market and HMD Global seems to offer flagship with high-end specifications on par with other brands. It is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor and comes coupled with Adreno 540 GPU.

It comes with metallic unibody design and sports a 2.5D curved glass on the front. There is a 5.3-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. In the camera department, the Nokia 8 sports dual camera setup featuring 13MP RGB sensor and 13MP Monochrome sensor. It offers PDAF, laser autofocus, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. For selfies, there is a 13MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 78.4-degree wide-angle lens. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording in 4k resolution.

The IP54 certification also makes the device splash-proof. Nokia also added the Dual-Sight mode to simultaneously capture video with both the front and rear cameras. It also supports the Nokia OZO spatial 360-degree audio while recording videos. It is backed by a 3,090mAh non-removable battery that also supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. The Nokia 8 also supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM slot. It will be running on the latest Android 7.1.1 out of the box and is confirmed to receive the Android O update.
