Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy J5, J7 2016 to Launch in India on May 9th
Samsung has recently released the Samsung J3 (2016) with the S-bike mode in India priced at Rs. 8,990. Earlier, we exclusively found the support pages of Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) & Galaxy J7 (2016) on Samsung India’s Official website and were also spotted on Zauba listing. Now, the company is all set to launch the next-gen Samsung Galaxy J-series devices in India on May 9th. The smartphones will be the successors of Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 that launched last year.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) comes with a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED display and comes powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired with Adreno 306 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and microSD card slot for further expansion of memory upto 128GB. It features a 13MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter with LED flash. The handset supports dual sim dual standby and packs a 3100mAh battery.
The dual sim dual standby supported Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) flaunts a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, it fuels Exynos 7870 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz clubbed with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded to 128GB via an externalSD card slot. It comes with same camera package as the Galaxy J5 (2016), a 13MP primary camera and 5MP selfie shooter with LED flash. The handset powers a 3300mAh battery and includes connectivity options like 4G-LTE, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and microUSB 2.0 port.
The smartphones will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and are also expected to include the S bike mode feature seen on the Galaxy J3 (2016). The Galaxy J5 (2016) & J7 (2016) will be launched under the ‘Make in India’ initiative and will be available for purchase online exclusively via Flipkart. As of now, the company is yet to reveal the pricing details of the upcoming smartphones. Stay tuned for more updates as the official launch event is just a couple of days away.
