OPPO A37 with 2GB RAM & 8MP Camera Could Launch Soon in India
OPPO has recently entered the list of top 5 global smartphone manufacturers. With its aggressive marketing and strong offline presence, it became one of the fastest growing smartphone brands. Samsung and Apple remained in the first and second positions while another Chinese company, Huawei is in the third position. OPPO and Vivo had dethroned their Chinese counterparts Xiaomi and Lenovo from the list. It also sold a record number of OPPO R9 & R9 Plus smartphones in China.
The OPPO R9 was launched in India and other Asian countries as OPPO F1 Plus. Now the company is all set to begin the sales of OPPO A37 that was announced a couple of weeks back in China. It is priced at 1299 Yuan and will be available in Gold and Rose Gold starting from tomorrow. It looks similar to the OPPO R9 but misses the physical home button and also the fingerprint sensor. The device comes with metal build unibody and weighs 140 grams. It also feels slim in hand by measuring 7.68 mm thickness.
It sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 293 ppi. The A37 is powered by MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with Mali T860 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It includes 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally upto 128GB. The device runs on in-house ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has a Hybrid Dual SIM slot where the secondary SIM can be replaced with a MicroSD card slot.
On the camera side, the OPPO A37 packs an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC. Bluetooth 4.1, OTG, GPS/A-GPS, and a MicroUSB port. The device is backed by a 2,630mAh battery which might not last more than a day of usage. In the last week of April, OPPO India had imported dummy units of A37 which hints at the possible launch of the device in India. Stay tuned for more updates!
