Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Launch Postponed Due to Production Issues
Xiaomi will be launching its biggest ever smartphone Mi Max with a 6.4-inch screen size on May 10th in China. Alongside the Mi Max, recently leaked Mi Band 2 is also expected to launch on the same stage. After launching the popular Mi Band in mid-2014, last year the company had updated it with Mi Band Pulse which comes with an added heart-rate sensor.
Now in May 2016, we all expected to see the launch of all new Mi Band 2, but the company had postponed the launch due to production issues. While the Mi Max with MIUI 8 will be launched on May 10th event, the Mi Band 2 is expected to launch at least a month later. The company official had mentioned that going for the launch without much stock will be bad for both consumers and the company.
The Mi Band 2 was first spotted on the hands of Lei Jun, CEO od Xiaomi where it comes with a display and also a physical button. As seen with the Mi Band, the Mi Band 2 also comes as a stand-alone device with a rubber strap. We guess the strap to be available in different color options. The display on the Mi Band 2 is expected to show time along with fitness information.
While on May 10th, the company will be launching Mi Max with a 6.4-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. Under the hood, the device might sport Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. It includes a 16MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. The leaked image shows the device to sport similar design as the flagship Mi 5.
For official details regarding the Mi Max, we need to wait till May 10th and for Mi Band 2, the revised date is not yet announced. Stay tuned for more updates!
