Alcatel Idol 5S Smartphone spotted on GFXBench with Android 7.0 Nougat & 3GB RAM

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Recently we have seen Alcatel Idol 5S on Geekbench, now the device has been spotted on GFXBench that ensures that the launch of the handset is around the corner. At the MWC, nothing much was showcased by TCL, which now owns the brand except for the BlackBerry KeyOne. This upcoming device will be a midrange device, and few specs have been revealed on this GFXBench. The Alcatel Idol 5S will be the successor of the Alcatel Idol 4S which was showcased at the MWC held last year.

The previous leaks suggested that the handset will come with the latest Android Nougat 7.0 operating system out of the box and with Android O around the corner we can expect further updates also. It will be offering stock Android UI and will be powered by MediaTek Heli0 P30 octa-core processor with clocking speeds of 1.69GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard memory. The device also scored 824 on single-core and 3421 on multi-core tests.

GFXBench app reveals that the Alcatel Idol 5S will come with a 5.2-inch FHD (1080p) display and will also sport a 12MP rear-facing camera with LED flash. There is also an 8MP camera on the front for selfies and video calling. The camera related information might not be accurate, so we need to wait for few more days for the company to announce it officially. We might also expect a fingerprint sensor on the rear to enhance the security level, but again this is just an assumption.

We would like to see some improvements over its predecessor Alcatel 4S and this affordable handset might cost little more than the Alcatel Idol 5. What do you think about this device?
