Cubot X18 Is Said To Be The Next Bezel-Less Smartphone Powered By MT6737T SoC

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Bezel-less smartphone displays are definitely the next big thing in the market. It all started with Mi Mix, which Samsung, later on, took it a step ahead with the Galaxy S8 smartphones. However, the story is completely different as every other smartphone manufacturer is eyeing for a bezel-less display on their smartphones. On the same lines, the Cubot X18 is also next in line to come with a bezel-less display and in fact, the company also teased this sometime back (featured image).

Talking about this new Cubot X18 smartphone, we now have some new info about it and it tells us that the smartphone is actually not going to be all that powerful. Yes, it looks like they got a little carried away and are forgetting about the SoC. It has been reported that the Cubot X18 will be powered by an entry-level quad-core MT6737T chip. There is no denying the fact that the MT6737 is probably the best entry-level SoC, however, the fact that it is going to be used here to power a bezel-less FHD display seems to be quite difficult.

Talking about the other specs, it has been reported that the chipset will be coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It looks like this will be an expandable storage and hence users won’t have any issues here as well. Now, talking about the cameras, we are looking at a 13MP shooter with an LED flash at the back, whereas on the front, it will pack 8MP selfie shooter. The most interesting piece of information about this, however, has to be the software. It has been reported that it will be running on near stock version of Android 7 Nougat.

Also, the entire package is said to be powered by a 3,200mAh battery, which also sounds adequate. As far as the pricing is concerned, it looks like this smartphone will retail somewhere around $160. Do make a note that none of this info has been officially confirmed and hence we suggest you stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more details. It looks like the Pre-sale will start next week and that is when we hope to learn more on the same. Meanwhile, you can let us know your thoughts on this device by leaving a comment down below.
