Google to Launch Bisto Headphones Powered by Google Assistant

Alongside the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple unveiled the true wireless headphones called AirPods. It comes with Siri integration and is powered by the custom W1 chip. While the AirPods fits well with the Apple ecosystem, Google might soon offer the same experience to its Pixel and Pixel XL users. According to 9to5google, the Mountain View-based company will launch a pair of headphones powered by Google Assistant. It comes with the code name Bisto and first came to limelight in April this year.

The details about the Bisto are revealed by the APK teardown of the latest Google App. Since the company is yet to make an official announcement, take these details with a pinch of salt. Just like the AirPods, the Google Assistant powered headphones can be easily paired with the smartphones and the Google is calling it as Magic Pairing. However, we think the Magic Pairing will be available only with the Google Pixel smartphones. The description of the headphones is “Ask it questions. Tell it to do things. It’s your own personal Google, always ready to help.”

Apart from replying to queries and commands, the Google Assistant powered headphones can able to route and audibly play the notifications. Interestingly, the users can also reply to the notifications verbally. Few strings also revealed the headphones to feature two physical buttons called top button and Google Assistant button. The user needs to press and hold the button in order to speak to the headphones. On the AirPods, the user can talk through ‘Hey Siri’ command. There will be also OTA updates to the headphones.

While the AI-based speakers have seen the success in the developed market, soon there will be AI powered headphones. Though these Bisto headphones will be limited to Google Pixel devices, the other major Android smartphone manufacturers like LG, Sony, and HTC might bring in their own Google Assistant powered headphones.
