Samsung Is Said To Acquire The Initial Stocks Of Snapdragon 845 For Galaxy S9 & S9+

Now that the Galaxy Note 8 is about to be unveiled officially in just a couple of days, it is time to focus on upcoming devices from Samsung and it looks like the rumors mill has already started producing rumors about the same. Yes, we have now started hearing some news about the next Galaxy smartphone from Samsung i.e. the Galaxy S9 and the S9+.

According to the sources, it looks like both the Galaxy S9 as well as the Galaxy S9+ will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. As we already know that these smartphones will be the company’s flagship for next and hence they will fit them with all the latest and the greatest hardware. Hence, the fact that it will be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC, does make a lot of sense. This, however, could be an issue for other smartphone manufacturers.

It has been reported that all the initial stocks of the Snapdragon 845 SoC will be acquired by Samsung, making sure that they have enough units to power their flagship smartphones. Well, if you have been following the news lately, then you probably already know that even last year, something similar happened which resulted in other manufacturers like LG, etc. to wait for the stocks. This was the exact same reason why LG G6 wasn’t fitted with Snapdragon 835 SoC.

And if these new reports are something to be believed, then it is highly possible that even the rumored LG G7 won’t be powered by the latest Snapdragon SoC. That is quite unfortunate since in that case, the LG G7 will most likely be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, which is the current flagship chipset. However, do make a note that all these are just rumors and there is no official confirmation on any of this.

Considering the fact that the Galaxy S9 & the S9+ will likely be launched in the Q1 2018, it certainly is quite early to speculate about this just yet.
