Exclusive: Nubia to Announce Cristiano Ronaldo as their Brand Ambassador Today
Almost a week back, we had exclusively reported about the possibility of Portuguese star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo’s appointment as the brand ambassador for ZTE‘s subbrand Nubia. While at that time, the source all we have is the leaked teaser image. Now it’s official; the company will be announcing Real Madrid star Ronaldo as their brand ambassador at an event scheduled for today in China.
A couple of days ago he had opened his personal account on China’s biggest social networking site,Weibo. In a short span of three days, he made six posts and had more than 322,600 Chinese followers. Even all his posts till date are published through the yet to be launched Nubia Z11 smartphone. Recently the company has launched the 5-inch Nubia Z11 Mini with midrange specifications.
As we exclusively covered, the Nubia Z11 and Z11 Max are listed on TENAA, and the launch event can be expected soon. Ronaldo is already in China, and the official announcement will be made in the next few hours. This will be the second biggest deal from Chinese smartphone brands while earlier Huawei had roped in Messi as their brand global brand ambassador.
Nubia is looking for global expansion and its parent company ZTE had better market share than other Chinese brands in Western countries. The company also launched Nubia.com for selling the Nubia devices through online in more markets than ever. Currently, their devices are available in North America, South America, Northern Europe, Russia, Southeast Asia along with the world’s largest smartphone markets China and India.
