Micromax Launches Bolt Selfie Phone with 5MP rear & front camera at Rs 4999
Last week, Micromax had launched one of its best affordable device Canvas Evok priced at Rs. 8,499. At that price, the device includes a whopping 3GB of RAM and comes with other competitive specifications. Now the company had launched the Bolt Selfie with a price tag of Rs. 4,999. The device will be exclusively sold through Flipkart, same as the Canvas Evok. It is a dual SIM device and supports 4G LTE connectivity.
The 4.5-inch IPS display on this device comes with FVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution. It is powered by MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1GHz. The Bolt Selfie packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded upto a maximum of 32GB. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, and we don’t expect it to receive Marshmallow anytime soon.
Even with just 8GB of onboard storage, the device comes pre-installed with several bloatware apps like Amazon, Clean Master, Hike, Gaana, Snapdeal and many more. On the camera front, the Bolt Selfie comes with 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash on the rear and a fixed focus camera on the front. It is backed by a 1750mAh battery that is rated to deliver 18 hours of talk time and lasts upto 260 hours on standby.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. A few days back, Micromax launched two new basic smartphones Bolt Supreme and Bolt Supreme 2 priced at Rs 2,749 and Rs 2,999 respectively. Both the devices come with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of Storage. The Bolt Supreme features a 3.5-inch display while the Bolt Supreme 2 comes with 3.9-inch display with FWVGA resolution.
The devices also offer 2MP rear camera and VGA front cameras. They run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with pre-installed bloatware apps as seen on many other Micromax devices. The company targets the first time smartphone users who shift from feature phones. We can’t expect these devices to offer true Android experience and hence recommended to offers devices with at least 1GB of RAM.
