Asus Zenfone 3, Deluxe & Ultra to be Available Starting from July 12th
Update – More than a month after unveiling the latest Zenfone 3 smartphones, Asus is all set to launch the Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe, and Zenfone 3 Ultra in Taiwan starting from July 12th. As of there is no official confirmation about the launch date or any other details about the availability of these devices in the foreign markets. Few leaks also suggest the Zenfone 3 Deluxe to be launched with Snapdragon 821 SoC (upgraded variant of Snapdragon 820) in few Asian markets including India.
Earlier: May 30, 2016 – At the Zenvolution event at the Computex 2016, AsusS launched three new flagship smartphones Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe, and Zenfone 3 Ultra. Compared to last year, 2016 Zenfones come with refreshed design and better specifications. All the three smartphones come with USB Type-C port and features the fingerprint sensor. The devices also run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based latest Zen UI 3.0 out of the box.
- Asus Zenfone 3
As shown in the teaser images, the Zenfone 3 comes with a metal frame and 2.5D glass on front and back of the device. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and 3GB of RAM. The device packs a 16MP rear camera with OIS, Laser Autofocus, and f/2.0 aperture. For selfies, the device offers an 8MP front camera with the same f/2.0 aperture and 88-degree wide-angle lens. It is backed by a 3,000mAh that can easily last more than a day of usage.
- Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe
Among the three devices, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe features the flagship specifications. Unlike the Zenfone 3, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe comes with an all metal body and invisible antenna. The device sports with 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with just 1.3mm bezels on each side. It also features with the always-on display just like Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The device is powered by flagship Snapdragon 820 processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It packs a whopping 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, it sports a 23MP Sony IMX318 rear camera sensor with 6P lens, and the lens is protected by Sapphire glass. It is also equipped with PDAF and 2nd Gen laser autofocus that can focus the image in just 0.3 seconds. It comes with 4-axis camera which was first seen on Xiaomi Mi 5. The device supports Quick Charge 3.0 that can give 60% of charging in just 30 minutes. The USB 3.0 Type-C port gives 10X data transfer speeds.
- Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra
The Zenfone 3 Ultra sports a 6.8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with a pixel density of 324ppi. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 510 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It has 64GB of internal storage and includes a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. It packs the same 23MP rear camera as on Zenfone 3 Deluxe with 4-axis OIS. It is kept powered on by a 4,600 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
- Pricing & Availability
Compared to last year’s Zenfone devices, the flagships comes with better features and sturdy build quality. Wth all those the improvements, the pricing of the devices also went high. The Zenfone 3 starts from $249 for 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. While the Zenfone 3 Deluxe with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage costs $499 and the Zenfone 3 Ultra with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at $479. The availability and the Indian pricing of the devices aren’t yet announced. Stay tuned for further updates!
