Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to come with 20% hike in battery over the Note 5
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is expected to release in the month of August, and we have seen a handful of rumors about the device already. Adding on to the list, we have yet another information about the smartphone. Until now according to the rumors, the phablet was expected to be powered by a 4000 mAh battery. This improvement was about 33% more than the previous version.
But according to a recent report today, the battery on the Galaxy Note 7 will have a capacity of 3600 mAh. If this is true, then it still provides a 20% increase in the battery capacity in the new phablet. According to the source of the rumor, the Galaxy Note 7 can squeeze out a 20-hours of video playback with maximum brightness. Considering the fact that, it’s a massive 5.8-inch display with a quadHD resolution, it’s not at all bad.
It is also confirmed that this new smartphone would be unveiled during the next Samsung Unpacked event, which is scheduled for August 2nd. Multiple reports are claiming, the device to come with IP certification. This will be new to the Note line-up as the previous iterations didn’t have the IP certification. If this happens then, the Note 7 will have an IP 68 certification just like the recent Galaxy S7 smartphones had and can be submerged in more than 1 meter (3.2 feet) of water for 30-minutes.
According to the previous reports, the device is expected to rock the Snapdragon 823 chipset. It is expected to pack 6GB of RAM. Also, the stylus, for which the Note line-up is famous for is also expected to be upgraded with new features. Another feature which is being anticipated by many is the Iris Scanner. Along with the fingerprint scanner, this will also sport an iris scanner to unlock your device for added security.
As mentioned above, we have about five weeks for the phone launch and until then we can expect more rumors on specifications and other features of the device. However, these are just rumors, and we don’t have any official confirmation from the company. So stay tuned for more updates.
