Samsung to Launch Note 7 with Curved Dual-Edge Screen & not a Flat Screen
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 which is reportedly going to be launched on August 2nd at the Unpacked event, has been in the news for quite some time now. We have seen too many rumors claiming different features of the smartphone. Now we have yet another information on the upcoming phablet from the company.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is expected to have a curved screen, indicating the company’s commitment to the dual-curved display for its Galaxy smartphones. According to sources, the company is not even considering a flat screen version of the Note phablet. So practically the next smartphone in the series will have dual curved display making it the Note Edge variant only.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launched in 2014 was the first smartphone in the line-up to feature a curved display, but it was significantly different from what we have today with the Galaxy S7 Edge variant. The 2014 model used a separate strip of display independent of the primary display. And yes, it only curved one side of the screen leaving a very asymmetric look.
The new Note smartphone would have more functions for the edge display and would sport a much sleeker design, considering the fact that the Galaxy S7 Edge is already a beautiful device. Many of us might still be looking for a flat version, but we have to wait and see if Samsung is going to launch two variants like it did with the Galaxy S series or not. But we are expecting this phone to sport a lot of new features, as the company is known to pack the new phablets with a variety of new features.
According to reports, the phablet is expected to feature a Snapdragon 823 processor, 6GB of RAM and a QuadHD superAMOLED display. Previously, rumors also suggested that the company is planning to feature a one of a kind Iris Scanner on the device like the one it added on one of its Tablet called the Galaxy Tab Iris. This tablet was launched in India for a Government Project.
Other interesting rumors point towards an updated Gear VR version dubbed as GearVR 2.0 and a USB Type-C. Recently, the smartphone’s model number was also leaked by the company on their official website. As mentioned earlier, this new Note device is expected to be launched at an Unpacked event which is reportedly going to be held on August 2nd. Stay tuned for more information as we get close to the unveiling.
