Samsung Galaxy On7 2016 leaked with a Quad-core SoC & 13-megapixel camera

Samsung-Galaxy-On7

The South Korean manufacturer Samsung has been in the news for quite some time now for the leaks and new information on the Galaxy Note 7 phablet. Now yet again the company is under the spotlight, as the new leaks point towards an On7 2016 listing on the GFXbench. The latest iteration of the budget smartphone by Samsung was recently benchmarked on the website

According to the GFXbench, the new On7 2016 version will be equipped with a 4.8-inch SuperAMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It will run the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow software. The phone is most likely powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC which is not mentioned on the website, but we’re assuming so since it’s running the Adreno 506 GPU. It will be equipped with a 3GB of RAM coupled with a 16GB of onboard storage.

In terms of camera, we have a 13-megapixel rear facing camera and an 8-megapixel front facing selfie shooter. Other camera options include autofocus, face detection, etc. Looking at the specification, it appears that Samsung is planning for a huge upgrade here with this device like it revamped the Galaxy J series as well as the A series. The last year’s On7 had a lower resolution 720p HD display. It was powered by a 1.3Ghz Exynos 3475 processor coupled with only 1.5GB of RAM. The internal storage is also bumped up this year up to 16GB compared to the last year’s 8GB. So this year’s variant is going to be a much better than last one and a worthy upgrade. Check out our review of the Samsung Galaxy On7 here.

We don’t have an official pricing for this device yet, but it appears that the On7 2016 will be priced between $150 – $200. However, all these are just initial information about the device only, and we have no official confirmation. But the new benchmarked device is definitely the On7 2016 variant as its model number is SM-G6100. The previous years’ On7 was SM-G6000. Also in terms of release date, we can expect this device to launch around next month or mid-august. Stay tuned for more updates, as we will update the thread once we have final confirmation.
