OPPO R9S to launch with Fast Charging Super VOOC Technology
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO launched its smartphone R9 in March last year. With only three months after the launch, the company sold over seven million units. And now according to new reports, the company is gearing up for the launch of the successor of R9, the R9S. The device is said to feature a thin metal body like R9 and is expected to launch later this year.
Reports also claim that this smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The exact model of the chipset is not known at this point, but it is expected that the chipset giant will start shipping them in the month of August. Rumors suggest that the company might just keep the same Snapdragon 652, which was used for the R9 Plus. It can also go for a newer chipset like Snapdragon 625. It is also expected that if the rumored Find 9 is not releasing anytime soon then the company might just launch the R9S with more powerful Snapdragon 821 chipset.
If that happens then the new R9S will take on the more powerful smartphones from the rivals like Xiaomi Mi Note 2, LeEco flagship and also the Mate flagship from Huawei which is expected to launch on September 1st event. Another interesting feature that is expected to be seen is the Super VOOC. It is a fast charging technology, which is capable of charging a 2,500 mAh battery in just 15 minutes. This revolutionary feature is expected to put an end to all the charging issues and having bigger batteries in the smartphones will not be a problem.
Currently, we have fast charging technology like Quick Charge 3.0 but, it is not nearly as fast as the Super VOOC is expected to be. According to rumors, the company is also working on a dual camera system as seen on many flagships like the Huawei P9 and LG G5 etc. But it is expected that this feature will go on the high-end Find 9 variant. However, all these are just rumors and we have no official confirmation from the company. Stay tuned for more details as we will get more information in coming days.
