Huawei may Launch Mate 9 Smartphone before IFA 2016 – Sep 1st Event
Like every year, IFA will be held in Berlin again from September 2nd to September 7th. We will see a lot of new smartphones launches in the event as it is the perfect timing for companies to announce. But, Huawei on the other is planning to announce a new smartphone one day before IFA 2016. The company started sending out invites for an event which is scheduled on September 1st.
The company has announced a lot of smartphones at IFA previously. Mate 7 was launched in 2014, and Mate S was announced at IFA last year. So yet again the company might launch another smartphone at the event. However, we are not sure which phone is the company planning to launch. It could be the Mate 9, or it can also be a successor to previously launched Mate S. But considering the fact that the original mate S wasn’t really a huge success for the company, we doubt the possibility of extending the line-up this year.
The Mate 8 was launched in October 2015, and this might as well be the perfect time to announce the Mate 9, as the rival companies Samsung and Apple will be announcing their smartphones around the same time. According to the rumors, the Mate 9 is expected to pack some serious power under the hood. The device is expected to sport a Kirin 960 SoC, which is an octa-processor, and 20-megapixel dual rear cameras. This is not a surprise as the company launched the P9 with a similar setup. The device is also expected to run Android N out of the box when it will be available to purchase.
But again, these are just rumors, and we don’t have any official confirmation on the specifications from the company. Also based on the rumors, the company might just skip the successor to the Mate S this year and go with the Mate 9. But at this point in time, it’s too early to speculate around the assumptions. We’re sure we will get more details as we get close to the event. Stay tuned for more information on the device as we will update the thread.
