BBK, one of the largest Chinese electronics conglomerate is the sole manufacturer for many brands that we use. Earlier BBK had been the ODM manufacturer of smartphones for many Indian brands including Micromax. Apart from smartphones, BBK also produces music players, Blu-Ray players, digital cameras, educational devices like ebook readers and many others. From the past 20 years, the company had gained vast experience in electronics manufacturing and has now announced a new brand called “Imoo” for manufacturing educational smartphone.

The OPPO and Vivo are the recent entrants into the world’s top 5 largest smartphone manufacturers in 2016. Apart from China, both these companies have seen a major rise in market share in other Asian markets including India. Interestingly, both the OPPO and Vivo are part of BBK and the list doesn’t end here, the popular OnePlus and little known Vsun are also part of this Chinese conglomerate. Now the new Imoo joins this list and the company announced to launch educational smartphones under this new brand.

Though there is no information about the smartphones, the first device is expected to be named as “Imoo Learning Phone“. The earlier image teased on Weibo revealed the device to come with a slim profile and feature an all metal body. Today the Imoo has posted three more images which revealed the device to feature three capacitive buttons on the front for back, home, and recent apps (from right to left). The volume rocker and power button are placed on the right edge while the sim card slot along with the expected recording button can be found on the left edge.

From the images, we can see the refreshed UI with tiles like interface. Most of the screens are filled with educational content. There are different tiles for learning English, Chinese, Mathematics, Physics, Biology and others. It also has built-in data saver that optimizes the mobile data usage. The imoo learning phone supports Wi-Fi and 4G LTE for accessing faster data speeds on the go. Stay tuned for complete details regarding the specifications and other features of the Imoo smartphones
