HTC 10 Evo Smartphone with IP57 Certification & Android 7.0 Nougat Officially Launched
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
A couple of weeks back, HTC launched a new smartphone called the HTC Bolt in the U.S which is exclusive to Sprint only. The smartphone comes with advanced LTE bands for faster download speeds which work well with the carrier. As it was already reported earlier that the same smartphone would be launched as HTC 10 Evo in other markets, it is exactly what happened here. Hence it is not really exclusive to Sprint. Now, the smartphone has been listed on the company’s official website in Taiwan. According to the listing, the smartphone is indeed launching as the HTC 10 Evo as predicted.
According to the listing, all the specs, and everything pretty much remains the same. The company has listed two variants here where one has a 32GB of internal storage whereas the other one has 64GB of internal storage. Talking about the pricing, the smartphone is priced at NT $17,900 for the 32GB variant and NT $ 19,900 for the 64GB variant which roughly translates to about 38,300 INR & 42,000 INR respectively. As far as the availability of this smartphone in the other markets is concerned, they are launching it in Europe and U.K. In Europe & U.K unlike the U.S, they are not partnering with any carrier, instead, they will be selling them online only. However, not much info about the price or availability is known at this point, so stay tuned for more info on this.
Earlier – The HTC Bolt smartphone which we have been a hearing a lot about lately has now finally arrived exclusively on Sprint. We pretty knew everything about the smartphone like it’s specs, features, etc. But it indeed came with a couple of surprises. Yes, there’s a lot to talk about this smartphone from the Taiwanese manufacturer. The HTC Bolt as mentioned earlier is exclusive to Sprint, and it showcases Sprint’s latest technology which will reportedly provide faster download speeds as compared to other networks.
Now talking about this smartphone, it comes with a few sacrifices but also gains some neat features. For starters, the company has ditched the headphone jack here just like the iPhone 7 & the iPhone 7 Plus. It will be using the USB Type-C input for audio. On the other hand, it is the first full metal unibody built smartphone from the company which has an IP57 certification. And now talking about the specs of the device, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
It is worth noting here that the Snapdragon 810 chipsets were powering last year’s devices like the OnePlus 2, etc. It is kept powered by a 3,200 mAh battery internally which should be good for about a day since it has a QuadHD display on the front which is 5.5″ in size and has a resolution of 2560×1440. This is a IPS Super LCD 3 display here and hence don’t expect it to be as power efficient as the AMOLED panels. It also has Quick charge 2.0 instead of 3.0, which is pretty much a standard for most of the devices now.
In terms of the camera, we are looking at a 16MP rear facing camera, with f/2.0 OIS, PDAF & Dual LED flash. And on the front, there is an 8MP front-facing selfie shooter as well. HTC Bolt also has a fingerprint scanner on the front just the HTC 10. Talking about HTC 10, the Bolt looks a lot like the HTC 10. At the first glance, you will not be able to spot any difference between the two since they are identical from the front. At the back, the camera and the LED Flash placement is a little difference. But other than that, they both have the exact the same design. And yes, it runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
HTC Bolt is available starting today for $600, and it is exclusive to Sprint’s network. It has Sprint’s 3×20 carrier aggregation, which provides faster download speeds over LTE. But one thing to note here is that this feature is only available in Chicago, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Cleveland, and Columbus, Ohio. And other than these places, there will not be any difference whatsoever in terms of download speeds. The HTC Bolt surely came as a disappointment since for this price, there are a lot of other smartphones with better specs. In fact, the HTC 10 is also available for similar price point and offer better specs than this. Hence you should definitely give it a second thought before making a move here.
