Leaked Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Glossy Black Color Looks Similar to Black Onyx
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
After the halting the Galaxy Note 7 production, Samsung has been promoting the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge device to cover up the sales. Both the Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge are the best selling devices in the first half of 2016. While the Galaxy Note 7 has received positive feedback from the early reviews, the battery explosion laid a much better way for the Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Last month, Samsung launched the Galaxy S7 Edge in the new Coral Blue color. Now the latest leaks suggest the company might bring a new color option and it looks like they got inspired by the latest iPhones.
Apple has introduced the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in the new Black color that comes in two variants – Matte Black and Jet Black. The Jet Black had initially seen a huge demand with its glossy finish though it is mentioned to get scratched easily. Earlier, the company has launched the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in gold platinum, black onyx, and silver titanium colors. Now, the leaked images of the black glossy finish Galaxy S7 Edge looks similar to the earlier launched black onyx color. With the Gorilla Glass protection, at least the device can be used without any need of a case.
We might also see a bump in the internal storage of the glossy finish variant from 64GB to 128GB. Most of the markets including India have seen only the 32GB storage variant of the Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge. Talking about availability, this new color variant might be launched in December before the holiday season. The pricing will be same as the currently available color options. Since the company is already testing the Android 7.0 Nougat based TouchWiz UI for Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S6, and S6 Edge devices; the public release is also expected earlier to the upcoming holiday season.
While the Blue Coral variant is yet to be made available in India, we don’t think the glossy black Galaxy S7 Edge will be launched too. Earlier this month, Qualcomm announced the upcoming Snapdragon 835 SoC to be built using the advanced Samsung 10nm FinFET process. The latest rumors suggest the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge that are expected to be launched at the MWC 2017 will be first smartphones to use this new processor. It is said to come clocked at 3.0GHz and use an upgraded Adreno 540 GPU. As seen with the earlier Galaxy S devices, the upcoming devices will also use both the Qualcomm and Samsung in-house flagship processors.
