Lenovo Moto M with 5.5″ sAMOLED Display & Helio P15 SoC to Soon Launch in India

A couple of weeks back, Lenovo has officially launched the Moto M smartphone in China. It is first Moto smartphone to come with a unibody metal design and has a slight curved on the rear that offers a nice grip to hold on. Now, the Lenovo India has tweeted an image saying coming soon and in the background is the fadeout image of a smartphone that resembles with the Moto M. While there is no official launch date mentioned, we can now confirm the company to launch the Moto M in the Indian market. It sports a Super AMOLED display on the front and is powered by the new Helio P15 SoC. It is priced at 1999 Yuan in China (approx Rs. 20,000) and includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device also packs a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, and a 3,050mAh battery. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for the official launch date of the Moto M.
Earlier: Nov 8, 2016 – Lenovo’s Moto M smartphone has been in the rumors for the last few months. It was listed on TENAA in August revealing key specifications along with the first look of the device. As rumors suggested, the device will be first launched in China. Along with Vibe P2 smartphone, the Moto M will be on sale starting from November 11th, i.e.; Singles Day. It is priced at 1999 Yuan and comes in Gold and Silver color options. The device looks same as on the TENAA listing with a slightly curved metal body. This is also the first Moto smartphone to feature the fingerprint sensor on the rear. The earlier launched Moto Z series and Moto G4 Plus featured it on the front.

On the front is a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 2.5D glass laid on top. The Moto M is powered by the latest MediaTek’s Helio P15 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz and coupled with Mali T860 MP2 GPU. The Helio P15 SoC is an upgraded variant of Helio P10 which limited to 2.0GHz clock speed. There is 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded upto 128GB. Coming to the cameras, there is a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and dual LED flash. For selfies, the Moto M is equipped with an 8MP front camera with 85-degree wide angle lens.
It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Vibe UI laid on top. For the first time, we will be seeing a Moto device coming with bloatware apps. There will be Microsoft Office apps along with Skype, Facebook, and Messenger pre-installed on the Moto M. It is backed by a 3,050mAh non-removable battery that supports fast charging with the provided 5V/2A power adapter. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and USB Type-C 3.1 port. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE for superior data speeds.
Though it lacks any IP certification, the dual P2i nanocoating on the inside and outside of the device makes it at least splash proof. The fingerprint sensor placed on the rear can be used as shutter button in the camera and can also authorize mobile payments via AliPay. The Dolby Atmos stereo speakers placed on the top and bottom of the device offers 360 surround sound. The Moto M with 3,050mAh battery measures 151.35 x 75.35 x 7.85 mm. As of now, there is no information about the availability of the device in the foreign markets.
