Sony starts rolling out Android 7.0 update for its Xperia X Performance

Sony Xperia X Performance smartphone was launched earlier this year in the Month of February is ready to receive Android 7.0 Nougat, and it will be the first Xperia device to receive it. With a firmware built number 39.2.A.0.327 the rollout will hit Xperia X Performance (F8131) and X Performance Dual (F8132) but is currently limited to few selected regions only.

LG V20 was the first device to launch with Android Nougat, and it was said at the launch of Xperia X Performance along with the Xperia XZ that this device will be receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update in October and Xperia X and Xperia X Compact were in the second list.

The Xperia X Performance will come with a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels giving a pixel density of 441PPI. There is a Scratch-resistant glass and also comes with an oleophobic coating and Triluminous display with X-Reality Engine. Under the hood, there is an Octa-core 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 3GB RAM and Adreno 530 GPU.

There is a 2700mAh battery on the back to power the device and is a dual-SIM variant that supports 4G LTE connectivity. There is an onboard memory of 32GB which could be extended up to a maximum of 2TB via microSD card slot. Coming to the camera, there is a 23MP Primary sensor, and it accompanied with a 13MP camera on the front.

There is no information on when Sony update will be rolling out to other Xperia device, and it is not mentioned when the other parts of the world will be getting the update.
