JDI’s Dedicated VR Display announced with 651 Pixel Density

Japan Display Incorporated also called as JDI is well known for manufacturing displays has announced a dedicated VR display. This LTPS TFT-LCD display comes with a screen size of 3.42-inched with a pixel density of 651 ppi which will be used in VRglasses. This will be using a Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon Thin Film Transistor Technology which will be solving the grainy image issue plaguing current VR display.
With the technology used, it is possible to have such high resolutions and the display has a refresh rate of 90Hz and the liquid crystal response speed of 3ms. The display also comes with an improved animation mode which will give clearer images with higher PPI. Earlier we have also seen that JDI has unveiled its dual-panel foldable display.
There is no news on when will this display be made available to the people, but JDI has already started sending the samples to few developers. The pricing is also not been mentioned yet, and we will be waiting for the company to announce it officially. There is a maximum chance that this display may be coming in VR glasses that will be released in the first quarter on 2017.
