With the launch of Jio 4G services, the market share of 4G supported smartphones has seen a steep rise. While the Reliance has capitalized the demand by launching LYF branded 4G VoLTE smartphones, most of the smartphones from Chinese brands launched in last few months also came with VoLTE support. Even Samsung has launched almost a dozen smartphone under Rs. 10,000 price range with VoLTE support. The Samsung Z2 powered by the in-house Tizen OS is one of the best smartphones under Rs. 5,000. Now, we got some exclusive information about two budget smartphones from Samsung. The company will soon launch the Galaxy J1 4G and Galaxy J2 Ace smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy J1 4G
The Galaxy J1 4G comes with 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution. It will be powered by an unknown quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device includes 8GB of internal storage that can be further expandable via MicroSD card slot. It runs on ANdrod 5.1 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI laid on top. On the camera front, there is a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie camera. It is backed by a 2,050mAh removable battery that might not give more than a day of usage. The Ultra data saving mode (UDS), S Bike mode, and S Power Planning feature will be included in the device.
Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace
Compared to Galaxy J1 4G, the Galaxy J2 Ace comes with slightly better specifications. It sports a 5-inch TFT display with qHD (960×540 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is an unknown quad-core processor along with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Even the battery capacity is increased to 2,600mAh which might easily give a day of normal usage. Big changes can be found in the camera department; the Galaxy J2 Ace features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Both the cameras are assisted by a LED flash for capturing better images in low light conditions.
The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with TouchWiz UI laid on top. It also comes with Turbo Speed Technology (TST) which was first introduced with the Galaxy J2 2016 and Galaxy J2 Pro. The S Secure features make the device a bit more secure with locking/unlocking certain apps. It also encrypts the data shared on the public Wi-Fi. The S Bike mode, UDS, and S Power Planning that are included with the Galaxy J1 4G are also available with the Galaxy J2 Ace. We also expect the Smart Glow notification LED which was introduced with the Galaxy J2 2016 to be made available on the Galaxy J2 Ace.
Both the smartphones will be supporting 4G VoLTE and can be used with Jio 4G SIM without any issues. The users will also be eligible for Jio Welcome Offer that is expected to be ended by December 3rd. However, there are rumors that Jio will announce a new offer that will last until March 2017. According to the source who had shared this information with the PhoneRadar Team, the Galaxy J1 4G will be priced at Rs. 6,800 whereas the Galaxy J2 Ace with slightly better specifications might cost Rs. 8,600. In January last year, Samsung has launched the 3G variant of the Galaxy J1 for Rs. 5,990. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming Galaxy J1 4G and Galaxy J2 Ace.
