Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Dual Listed on BIS Certification Website in India
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
After the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, Samsung will be launching the next-gen Galaxy Note 8 smartphone on August 23rd in New York City. Recently, the company also launched the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 as Galaxy Note Fan Edition with a smaller battery capacity, but it is only available in South Korea. A couple of days ago, Galaxy Note 8 final specifications and the press renders are leaked by VentureBeat. As rumors suggested, we will be seeing the dual camera setup and the infinity display for the first time on the Galaxy Note series device. Now, the dual SIM variant of the Galaxy Note 8 with the model number “SM-N950F/DS” is spotted on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification in India.
The Samsung devices in the Western markets lack the dual SIM support, but the company offers this feature in most of the Asian markets. The high-end Samsung Galaxy smartphones include the hybrid SIM slot, where the user can choose between the secondary SIM and the MicroSD card. Unlike the U.S variants which come with Snapdragon chipsets, the Indian variants pack the in-house Exynos chipsets. While the Galaxy Note 8 is said to be available just a few days after the launch in the U.S, there will be a usual delay of almost one month in India. The Indian variant will also be manufactured locally under the “Make in India” initiative.
The front of the device is mostly occupied by the 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD+ (2960 x 1440 pixels). Just like the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, the Galaxy Note 8 also offers unusual 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Indian variant packs the Exynos 8895 SoC built on the 10nm architecture. There will be 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the rear, we can see the dual camera setup featuring 12MP sensor with the wide-angle lens and f1.7 aperture and another 12MP sensor with the telephoto lens and f/2.4 aperture. Both the sensors include OIS and offer 2X lossless zoom. For selfies, there will be an 8MP autofocus camera with f1.7 aperture.
The device will be running on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and features the in-house Bixby AI. It is also said to measure 162.5 x 74.6 x 8.5 mm. The fingerprint sensor is still placed on the rear of the device. With all these specifications, the device is backed by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery and supports adaptive fast charging. The S-Pen slot along with the speaker and USB Type-C port can be found on the bottom edge. It will also get Samsung DeX support for using as a personal computer by adding a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 smartphone.
