Reliance Jio Tops TRAI’s 4G Speedtest In June Leaving Other Operators Behind

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Reliance Jio has been all over the news for the past couple of days mainly for the new Jio phone. It has been reported that multiple manufacturers are eyeing to launch their own variants to compete with Jio. Yesterday we had also reported about the Jio 4G feature phone being manufactured in China and not India, as it was reported previously. However, now we have some new reports on Jio’s 4G performance.

Reliance Jio has topped the speed test charts yet again. Yes, the telecom service provider has topped the charts to become the fastest 4G service provider. It has been reported that Jio has registered an average speed of 18Mbps in the month of June. The same can be confirmed with the data published by the telecom regulator TRAI. TRAI’s speed test results show that there was a decline in Jio’s 4G network speeds from the beginning of the month.

Jio was recording an average speed of 19.12 Mbps at the beginning of the month, whereas, now towards the end, an average speed of 8.65 Mbps has been recorded. While the slight drop in the average speeds, the telecom service provider is still on top of the list with others not able to match the speeds. As per TRAI’s results, Bharti Airtel’s average 4G download speed was the lowest. An average speed of about 8.91 Mbps was recorded, which is significantly lower than Jio’s speeds.

Vodafone registered an average download speed of 11.07 Mbps at the end of June 2017 and takes the second position after Jio. Idea Cellular takes the third position recording an average download speed of 9.46 Mbps, which is again higher than that of Airtel. Considering the fact that Airtel claims to be the fastest in the telecom industry, this certainly came as surprise.

Do make a note that all this data was collected by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). All of this data is collected and computed with the help of MySpeed App on a real-time basis. Speaking of the average download speeds of the other telecom operators, there is no info available about the same and we suggest you stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more info on the same.
