Samsung SM-G9298 Clamshell Phone Packs Dual sAMOLED Displays & Snapdragon 821 SoC

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Samsung is rumored to launch the flagship W2018 clamshell phone in China, but the company actually came up with a new device called SM-G9298 (a.k.a Leader 8). As seen with the earlier launched Samsung clamshell phones, the new SM-G9298 is also limited to the Chinese market. As of now, there is no information about the pricing and availability of the device. The device comes only in Black color and looks quite similar to the last year’s Samsung W2017 clamshell phone. It uses the aviation grade Aluminum 6013 alloy which gives high strength and durability to the device.

It sports dual 4.2-inch Super AMOLED displays offering Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. These are the same set of displays that can be found on the W2017. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.15GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. It includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 256GB via a MicroSD card slot. While the W2017 came with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, the new SM-G9298 might run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat with the customized TouchWiz UI on top.

There is a 12MP camera with f/1.7 aperture and dual tone LED flash on the rear. It can even record 4K UHD videos at 30fps. For selfies, there is a 5MP front facing camera with f/1.9 aperture. It supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM slot where the user can opt for the MicroSD card instead of the secondary SIM. There is also fingerprint sensor on the rear that can be used for authorizing payments via Samsung Pay. It measures 130.2 x 62.6 x 15.9 mm and weighs 235 grams. The device is backed by a 2,300mAh non-removable battery that also supports wireless charging.
