8 Reliance Jio Specific Apps go Live on Google Play Store, iOS coming soon

After launching the LYF branded 4G+ smartphones, Reliance is now gearing up for the public launch of its much awaited Jio 4G services. Earlier the Jio services are available for only Reliance employees and now the company has started the invite system where the Reliance employees can refer Jio services for 10 others.

The Jio Chat is one app that was launched way back in 2015 and can be used with any device. Now, the company had listed their own Jio apps publicly on PlayStore after months of beta testing. Below is the list of apps that can be installed on any Android device but needs a Jio SIM to login.

• JioBeats – Music Streaming App
• JioPlay – Live TV App
• JioJoin – Dialer App with Video Calling
• JioOnDemand – Latest Movies & TV Shows
• JioDrive – Cloud Storage & Back-Up
• Jio Mags – Premium Magazines
• Switch N Talk – File Transfer App
• JioXpressNews – Newsfeed App

Except the “Switch N Talk,” every other app is exclusive for Jio users and need a Jio SIM to create an account. There are few more apps like My Jio, Jio Net, and Jio Broadcast that are still in the beta phase. If you can get a Jio SIM through an invite, then you can access all the premium content from above mentioned apps for free for 90 days.

Since the 4G LTE is also offered for free along with the Jio SIM for the first three months, more content can be access through the apps. If haven’t had a Jio SIM, there are many alternative apps that offer similar purpose. With the Jio Drive, the users can sync all their data between their smartphone and computer.

The desktop version of JioDrive is available for download for both Windows and Mac. While there is no more information publicly available about the apps, we can completely about the Jio partnerships and apps strategies only after the official announcement. The iOS versions of few apps like Jio Drive will be released soon.

Recently LeEco had launched ecosystem of multimedia content called Supertainment. LeEco had partnered with Yupp TV, Hungama, and Eros Now to offer Live TV, Movies-on-Demand, and Music Streaming.
