LG G5 Modular Designed Smartphone Coming to India on May 20

LG G5, the modular smartphones from the South Korean giant is going to be announced tomorrow. In a twitter post, comiang teased about their latest flagship handset coming to India in one day. There were no preliminary reports pointing towards the May launch, but it seems we may finally see the G5 handset in the country.

Earlier – LG has launched their next generation of flagship, the G5, and you won’t believe its design, as it’s the same that was leaked recently, sporting a bumpy camera on the back. It’s an all metal build body, first for the LG flagship handset, as the G4 and G3 has sported leather back. The new handset comes with a unique slide out battery port, meaning you can change the battery on this handset. Despite its metal body, the company was managed to put a non-removable battery inside the handset, all because of this revolutionary port that company claims is the first ever.

With the modular design, the LG G5 can transform into more than just a smartphone. Company’s moto here is to play, as they have introduced a whole set of accessories specifically designed for the new LG handset. Some of the accessories are LG Cam Plus, Hi-Fi Plus, 360VR and CAM Plus, they attach with device and transforms device into something else. The device would be available in four colors, Silver, God, Pink and Titanium. It comes with a USB Type-C port as well as USB 3.0, it is the only handset combining two ports and supports the latest Quick Charge 3.0.

The device sports a 5.3-inch Quad HD display resolution, which can crack up the brightness levels up to 900 nits, it can be said, it’s the brightest LCD display out there. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 820, Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset till date. Talking about the storage, it has a 4GB of RAM, which is a 1GB bump from G4, although, the standard internal storage is kept at 32GB. It would be running on the LG’s custom interface based on the Android Marshmallow 6.0.

In the camera department, the device houses a 16-megapixel image sensor as well as a wide-angle 8-megapixel resolution on the rear side. The front facing camera module is of 8-megapixel resolution. The device is measured at 7.7mm thickness and weighs 159 grams. Regarding connectivity options, it has a 4G LTE network support as well as 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and a USB Type-C port.
