Samsung Galaxy A9 Gets Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

Samsung has started to roll out a major update to its Galaxy A9 handset, which is currently only available in China. This is the first A Series handset from the company that is getting a jump to the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 OS version. Now A9 is on a level with the other premium range handset from the Korean giant. Though, there are some obvious exceptions like Always On Display, which are currently exclusive to Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge only.

According to the report from Sammobile, the model number SM-A9000 handset should have a build number A900ZCU1BPE2, after updating to the Marshmallow 6.0.1 based TouchWiz UI. The Galaxy A9 users might be missing on the AOD (Always On Display) feature, but can surely expect to enjoy goodies like Google Now on Tap and Doze features as they’re the part of Marshmallow package.

If you have not received this update yet, then you can surely try getting it manually. To do all you have to do is head over to the Settings app, then tap on the About device. Opening that section will show a list, you have to tap on the first option, Download updates manually.

We recommend that you download this update over Wi-Fi, since it is a major software update and would be large. Although, the report didn’t specify the exact size of the file. Moreover, we also recommend you to make sure that battery percentage on your device should be at least 50 percent.

In a recent news, the Korean mobile manufacturer who is riding high for the success of their 2016 flagship devices, as Samsung was the only company to report increase in revenue for the Q1 2016, when compared to LG, Sony and even Apple.
