asus pegasus 3

Last month, Asus launched the Zenfone 3Zenfone 3 Deluxe, and Zenfone 3 Ultra at the Computex 2016 in Taiwan. The devices are said to be available starting from July in the selected markets. In between the Zenfone 3 lineup of devices, the company announced to launch the Pegasus 3 in China as the successor for 2015 launched Pegasus 2. It comes in two color shades and sports metallic back panel. The device features entry-level specifications and includes a fingerprint sensor on the rear.

The Pegasus 3 sports a 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display which is smaller than the 5.5-inch display of Pegasus 2. Under the hood is an unknown quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It will be launched in two variants with 2GB and 3GB of RAM. The 2GB variants include 16GB of storage while the 3GB RAM variant comes with 32GB of storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto 32GB. It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the highly customized Zen UI laid on top.

In the camera department, it has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera on the front. Theses are the same sensors that can be found on its predecessor. The Pegasus 3 supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE along with VoLTE. The device is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that can last more than a day. The Zenfone Max is the still best device which packs a 5,000mAh battery but it comes with a polycarbonate body and also misses the fingerprint sensor. It measures 149.5  x 73.7 x 8.55 mm and weighs 158.4 grams.

The Pegasus measures 149.5  x 73.7 x 8.55 mm and weighs 158.4 grams. It has to face some stiff competition from recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Meizu M3S which also comes with massive battery capacities. Both the devices are priced at 699 Yuan for 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. As seen with the Pegasus 3, the Redmi 3S and Meizu M3S comes with a metal body and sports fingerprint sensor. While there is no information about the pricing Pegasus 3, we don’t expect Asus to price as low as Xiaomi and Meizu. Stay tuned for more updates!
