Top 6 Major Asus Zenfone 5 Problems & How To Fix them

Asus is well-known to the gadget freaks as it manufactures a wide variety of products. Ever since it started Android-based devices, all the Android lovers started looking at its product launches. Asus Zenfone 5 smartphone was released a couple of years ago, and still it’s been a primary device for most of the users. 1. Poor Battery-Life

Always remember to turn off the WiFi, Bluetooth and data connections whenever not in use because these connections will drain the battery faster. 2. Over-Heating Issue

Solution – Never use the handset when it is plugged-in for charging and try to remove the case when charging the device. If the issue persists, then check all the apps from your app manager. Solution – To avoid the issue of lagging, the first and foremost thing you can do is turn off the animations. For that, you need to enable the developer options of the device, and that can be done by tapping few times on the ‘Build Number’ under ‘Settings>About>Software Information’. Once enabled, you can see the options under your device settings. Open them and scroll down to find the animation settings where they were point to 1X by default. Now, turn them off or reduce them to 0.5X for increase the performance of the device.

Also, remove the cache stored in the apps by opening each app from the app manager and by tapping on ‘Clear Cache’ button. If the problem of lagging still exists, then try to clear the cache of the device. For that, you need to turn off the phone and enter into the recovery mode. Press and hold volume up and power button at the same time after turning off the phone. Release the keys as soon as you see the menu and using volume down and power button, select and confirm the ‘Recovery’ button. Now, go for ‘Wipe cache partition’ and when done, select and confirm ‘Reboot system Now.’ By now, the problem of lagging should have resolved and if not you can try a factory reset as the last resort.

Factory reset will erase everything on your phone and so take a backup of the data before proceeding further. Turn off the phone and enter into recovery mode as explained above. In the ‘Recovery’ you need to select and confirm ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and ‘Yes – delete all user data’ using volume and power buttons. Once done, go for ‘Reboot the System Now’. Another way to perform factory is reset by tapping on ‘Settings>Backup & Reset>Factory Data Reset>Reset Phone>Erase everything’ and follow then on screen instructions. That’s all; you have finished the factory reset, and now you will have a new device in your hand with an increase in performance.

4. Wi-Fi Issue

Problem – Most of the users complaint about the Wi-Fi connection issue on their handsets. And this can be resolved by performing few workouts.

Solution – Whenever you have trouble with the Wi-Fi, try to restart the device once and check the connection. It can resolve the issue and if the problem still exists then check the Wi-Fi router once as it may cause the issue. If everything is fine and still you are unable to connect to Wi-Fi then go to ‘Settings>Wi-Fi’ and select ‘forget network’ on your connected server and then reconnect the same. By now, the issue of Wi-Fi should have resolved.

5. microSD Card reinserted Notification

Problem – After using the device for few months, some of the users reported that they are receiving ‘microSD card reinserted’ notification on the phone. Well, this could be a temporary issue, but if ignored, you cannot be able to use the SD card contents.

Solution – To resolve this issue, remove the SD card from the device and check the SD card tray properly. Now, Re-insert the card into it carefully without any misplacement. By now, the notification should get stopped. Few users stated that they were receiving this notification after installing specific apps. So, you need to uninstall such apps from the device to resolve the issue. Also, try to remove app cache regularly by opening each app from app manager and by tapping on ‘Clear Cache’ button.

6. Low Camera quality

Problem – Few users reported that they are getting very low-quality images whenever the camera is used. We cannot replace the camera, but we can try for the alternative to resolve the issue. But do remember that, with the below solution you can see only a bit of change in image quality.

Solution – The Asus Zenfone 5 comes with 8 MP back-camera and 2 MP front-camera. Other than the above mentioned problems and solutions, you can take few precautions to avoid any future problems on the device. Always stay updated with the latest software released by the manufacturer. You can check for the software update under ‘Settings>About>System Update.’ The software updates will fix minor bugs in the device and helps in enhancing the performance.

Whenever you see abnormal functioning on the phone, try to restart the device. Also, disable the pre-installed apps from the device so as to reduce the risk of any other issues. Regularly clear the app caches from the device and reduce the use of Live Wallpapers and Widgets. By doing this, you can manage to prevent any issues on the phone.
