Chinese Girl Buys a House Selling 20 iPhone 7’s Gifted by her Boyfriends
The Apple iPhones offer some great smartphone experience even though there aren’t many customizations offered, unlike Android devices. Apart from normal users, there are fanboys whom we see outside the Apple stores standing in queues to get the new iPhone on the launch day. There are few incidents where many people were caught at the airports for smuggling iPhones. The Chinese are not only known for making counterfeit iPhones, but there are few stories where the iPhones play a major role. In 2014, a Chinese guy proposed his girlfriend with then newly launched iPhone 6 smartphones. He brought 99 devices worth $95,000 and proposed by standing in middle of devices placed in a heart shape.
This incident took place on the singles day (Nov 11th) and unfortunately, her girlfriend rejected his proposal making him stay single. Now in 2016, we have the all new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus which are costlier than the earlier iPhones. Along with the devices is a new Chinese love story. A Chinese girl had convinced her 20 boyfriends to get her the new iPhone 7. While she had 20 boyfriends, for them he might be one and only girlfriend. All of them gifted her the new iPhone 7 smartphones, and now an entrepreneur inside her waked up. She sold all the 20 devices on the mobile phone recycling site Hui Shou Bao for 1,20,000 Yuan (approx $17,750 / Rs. 11,83,500).
All these money were then used for the making the downpayment for a new house. The news came out when her co-worker posted the whole story on the Chinese’s forum called Tian Ya Yi Du. The post also revealed that her mother is a housewife and her father is a migrant worker. Even Hui Shou Bao, the recycling site used for selling the devices also confirmed that they received 20 iPhone 7’s from a single person in the early October. While few of them in China also argues that this story is created to make the recycling site popular. If its true, then all her 20 boyfriends might be feeling awkward as all they got fooled without knowing each other.
The hashtag which translates as ’20 mobiles for a house’ is trending on Weibo and also stood at first place since it is now used more than of 13 million times. Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are made available in China starting from September 16th. Apart from courage shown to remove the 3.5mm audio port and adding dual cameras on the back of the iPhone 7 Plus, there are many major improvements which we all expected. Apple might want to make their 10th anniversary iPhones a lot better than the current iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. We hope, there will be no more adapters required for using iPhones apart from the current 3.5mm to lighting port cable. If the rumors are to be believed, next year’s iPhones will be using USB Type-C port which is only port available available on newly launched MacBook Pro’s.
