Expected Reliance Jio Postpaid Voice & 4G Data Plans, Compared with Airtel

Reliance Jio

These days one telecom company is particularly in a lot of hype for their upcoming service, and it is a high probability that you might have heard their name if you reside in India. We are talking about the Reliance Jio; the Mukesh Ambani-led telecommunication firm, which has been delaying its public launch in all of the circles where they have got a license to operate.

Now according to a report, we have got the exclusive look at the expected pricing for the postpaid plans on the Jio network. And they’re quite amusing. Reliance Jio would be possibly announcing different pricing models for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Cities, while pricing for Tier 3 Cities would probably be similar to the Tier 2 pricing model.

Users would reportedly get all local calls and 10GB of data free at a price tag of Rs 1000, which is quite an impressive pricing when compared with competitors like Airtel. For Rs 999 postpaid plan under Airtel Infinity user can only make free calls to other Airtel number, that too only local. While Airtel is offering only 3GB of free data in that plan.

To enjoy the maximum benefits of Airtel postpaid 4G connection, a user would have to shell out as much as Rs 3249. Where they would be offered all same network calls free may it be local or STD, but only offering 15GB of data. Now comparing that with the expected Reliance Jio postpaid data plan, it should offer all free calls and up to 20GB of data along with services like 100GB Jio Drive, Unlimited on-demand music and movies for Rs 2000 price tag. Now would that be something!

Reliance Jio Expected Postpaid Pricing Model

The Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities would is expected to see data pricing of Rs 100 per GB while Airtel 4G charges Rs 250 for 1GB data. It gets much more interesting; Jio could offer 3GB of data at Rs 275, easily offering more value for money than Airtel 4G or any other 4G provider in the country. Moreover, you should know that Jio will be offering services on 4G LTE network, which is much faster and reliable in terms of connectivity.

For the past couple of months, Reliance has become more active in terms of testing as they extended the beta services to their employees family and friends. In a usage report released a while back stated that Reliance Jio users are among the top data users in the country when compared to other 4G networks. As they uses 18GB data per month compared to 150MB national average. It was obviously because of the free 30GB initial promotion offering for three months.

If the company continues its goodwill by offering postpaid and even prepaid plans at affordable rates as mentioned above by the research firm, then we can see a drop in data realization by at least 25-30% over the coming quarters.
