Huawei Mate 8’s new version passes TENAA, Improved Force touch expected

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei released it’s flagship smartphone Mate 8 back in November 2015. This device packed great specifications and various exciting features inside a beautiful metal body. Huawei is one of the first Android smartphone manufacturers to announce and release a Force Touch enabled smartphone in the Android ecosystem.

The specifications and features of this new variant are similar to the previous one, which packs an octa-core 2.3 GHz processor, that should be the same Kirin 950 Soc. It is coupled with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This dual-SIM smartphone supports 4G connectivity on both the SIM Cards, a 16-megapixel rear facing camera with PDAF and CAF along with an 8-megapixel front facing camera.

It also sports a massive 6-inch 1080p display and a 3,900 mAh battery sealed inside the metal body to power the internals. On the software side, it’s running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. When compared to the Apple’s force touch technology, the Huawei’s version on the Mate S, lacked many functionalities, but the new version with the Mate 8 is going to be updated with new features.

Design wise, the new Mate 8 looks identical to the previously launched Mate 8 only, with the same metal uni-body design. The name of the device is unknown at this point but looking at the trend, Huawei launched the Mate S back in September and within months, it launched the Mate 8. So this time around, they might call this new device as Mate 8S and launch another device called the Mate 9 in a couple of months with improved specification and better force touch display features.

However, all these are just speculation, and we have no official confirmation from the company. Huawei also launched a limited edition of the Mate 8 smartphone, signed by Messi. It was priced at 4399 Yuan (45,250 INR) same as the regular Mate 8 with same storage option and RAM. This limited edition version was only available in Mocha Gold Color, and it only limited to the Chinese market.
