Moto Z Play with Snapdragon 625 SoC & 3GB RAM Spotted Online

moto leak

Motorola announced their new flagships Moto Z and the Moto Z Force earlier this month at the Lenovo Tech World along with the Phab 2 and the Phab 2 Pro. But apparently the company has more in store for us this year. Previously there were rumors, indicating that the company might launch Moto Z Play smartphone. But no further information on that is available yet. But interestingly, there’s a new device by the company that showed up on the GeekBench. Looking at the available specification, it looks more like a mid-range smartphone targeted towards the affordable market segment.

This device sports the model number XT1635. It’s given that the device will be powered by the msm8953, which is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 8-cores and clocked at 2.02 GHz.It will also have a 3 GB of RAM. The GeekBench page also shows that it is running on the last version of Android, which is Android 6.0 Marshmallow. We don’t have any other information like camera specifications etc, and hence, we can’t decide how capable this device is going to be.

We still don’t have any official confirmations on the device from the company. But because Motorola is known for launching more than a few devices per year, this might just be announced by Q4, towards the end of the year.Hopefully, more information will surface about this new device soon.We expect this phone to have a bigger battery as users will appreciate that. Also, the new Moto Z has a tiny 2600 mAh battery. That’s one thing that the company gave up for achieving the design. This device might be a good mix of the High-end Moto Z and the Budget smartphone G4 Plus, offering a great phone.

But note that, not all the devices that get benchmarked are released. Usually, when the manufacturers are working on releasing a new smartphone, they typically go through numerous prototypes before the final one is confirmed based on the results. Also, these types of benchmarks can be faked easily to create a buzz about a topic. We have seen a lot of them before and hence, we can’t confirm anything right now. But the chances of this device being released are high.
