UMi London with Dual Glass IPS Display, Android Marshmallow Launched

After a huge succession of grand flagship UMi Super, UMi has listed their new phone today. It’s called the Umi London. The company claims it is the toughest dual protection phone. They are calling it the DG Twin Shield technology which makes the smartphone tougher. It is basically dual toughened glass which makes it durable.

The new Umi London features a 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280*720 that intergrates toughened dual glass with DG Twin Shield technology which smoothly combines dual T2X-1 2.5 D glass and 3M double coated foam tape with 0.23mm pressure relief lamination. The brand says it’s suited for outdoor usage and can survive a drop from maximum 6M without any protection. The Umi London is built with an exquisite aluminum alloy frame which makes it tough and light in your hands.

The Umi London is powered by an MTK MT6580 Quad Core 1.3Ghz processor. It has 1GB of RAM and an 8GB of onboard storage. This is expandable upto 32 GB for the added space. The company claims it has 60% increase in overall performance. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It has a Mali- 400 GPU for graphics. The internals of this device is powered by a SONY 2050 mAh lithium polymer battery which should through an entire day according to Umi. Umi London uses a music box speaker, which is a custom made audio chip by the manufacturer. On the camera side, it sports an 8-megapixel Sony IMX149 rear facing camera and a 2-megapixel front facing selfie shooter.

It has thickness of 8.5mm and weighs in at about 160g. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi IEEE802.11 b/g/n. It has G-Sensor, P-Sensor, L-Sensor, Accelerometer for stability and automation. This is dual-SIM smartphone which supports 1 micro and 1 nano SIM. The company previously launched the Umi Super, which had flagship specifications with Helio P10 (MT6755) Octa Core 2.0 GHz processor and 4GB of RAM. It also featured a fingerprint reader at the back and packed a 4000 mAh battery. The new Umi London smartphone is priced at $69.99 which is around the similar price bracket of Umi Rome X, which offers similar specifications. The Umi London is available in 3 color options – Black, White and Gold.
