Xiaomi Redmi 4 Rumored to be Powered by Helio X20 Deca-Core Processor

Xiaomi Redmi 3 official (2)

After missing the sales target last year, Xiaomi has launched smartphones with decent specifications and aggressive pricing to increase its presence. The Redmi Note 3 is the first device to use the Snapdragon 650 hexa-core chipset and is well received in the Indian market. In May, Hugo Barra announced that over 6,00,000 units of Redmi Note 3 are sold in the just two months of weekly sales. Even the flagship Xiaomi Mi 5 also been popular among those who are looking affordable flagship devices.

The Redmi 3, the successor for the popular Redmi 2 came with a metal body and is priced at 699 Yuan (approx $106 / Rs. 7,200). Later the company launched the Redmi 3 Pro variant with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and fingerprint sensor priced at 899 Yuan. While last week, even more affordable Redmi 3S/Redmi 3X powered by Snapdragon 430 chipset and fingerprint sensor was launched at 699 Yuan. The Redmi 3 and Redmi 3S are yet to be made available outside of China, but we now got some information about the upcoming Redmi 4.

The leaked list of MediaTek Helio X20 processor included the Redmi 4 name in it. While every other device had their specifications mentioned beside, there is no any other information about the Redmi 4 except its name. Compared to last year’s Redmi 2 which is powered by Snapdragon 410 chipset, the Redmi 3 series came with much better Snapdragon 616 processor. If the Redmi 4 is powered by Helio X20 deca-core processor, we can still expect it to be as affordable as Redmi 3.

Though there are early comparisons between Helio X20 and Snapdragon 820 processor, not many companies have opted for Helio X20 SoC. As of now, the 360 N4 is the most affordable smartphone to include HelioX20 chipset. It is priced at just 899 Yuan and also packs 4GB of RAM and Full HD display. Since the Redmi 4 will become official only in 2017, the device can be priced at 699 Yuan, same as Redmi 3.
