You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Google launched the new Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Android devices back in Q2 at Google I/O event. A couple of months later, the Pixel smartphones came with the Android 7.1, and the LG V20 was also one of the first devices to ship with the Android 7.0 Nougat. Not much info was available as far as the update for the rest of the Android running devices were concerned. However, Motorola remains one of the first manufacturers to push the Android 7.0 nougat update for its smartphones.

Every year when a new version of Android is out by Google, few manufacturers like the Motorola, OnePlus, whose devices run a near stock Android version of the software, push the update to their users quickly. The reason for the same being, not having to polish the software according to the skins which most of the other manufacturers use. It is a known fact that manufacturers like HTC, Samsung, etc. take a lot of time to push the update since they all run a custom skin on top of the stock Android. In that case, you have to make sure that the new version of Android runs smoothly with their skin or UI.

Since it takes a lot of time for them to test it out and make sure there are no errors, it takes a lot of time. However, Motorola, on the other hand, doesn’t have to worry about this and hence we usually see faster updates being pushed by them. And on the same lines, this year also they did the same thing with their flagship smartphones i.e. the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force. Today, the company announced that it would begin to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat to these smartphones, starting this week. Well, if you want to make sure if your device is getting the update or not, then be sure to check their official website for specific country and carrier info.

And along with the Android 7.0 Nougat update, the company also announced that both these smartphones would receive compatibility with Daydream. If you don’t know what Daydream is, it is Google’s mobile VR. With that being said, the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force will become the first devices after the Google Pixel smartphones to be Daydream ready. So once you receive the update, all you have to do is, get the VR headset that Google is making called the Daydream View. You can easily get your hands on one them from the Google Store or maybe your local Verizon or Best Buy retailers.

If you own either of these devices, then you should be receiving the update very soon, so you should keep checking your phone or maybe as mentioned you can check their website for more info about the same. The company didn’t mention anything about the update for its other devices hence we have to wait for more info on the same. Stay tuned for more info on this as we will update once we have more details.
