Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet 7″ with Android 6.0 Marshmallow launched for $50
Barnes & Noble is known for all the E-readers they have launched previously. They recently launched the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A NOOK as well which was a great reader for the price. It was priced at $139 and was launched in conjunction with Samsung Electronics America. It offered some good specs and overall it was good for consumers looking for some quality reading experience. With that being said, the company has just launched a new tablet called the NOOK Tablet.
If you are in the market for an affordable E-Reader, then this is probably worth considering. Talking about affordable, this one will cost you just $50. On top of providing a great reading experience, it will also give you all the goodness of Android. Well, for that price, it is not a bad deal at all since you are pretty much getting best of both the worlds here. Although it doesn’t offer much in terms of specs, it should be just fine for day-to-day tasks.
Talking about the specs of the device, it comes with a 7″ display on the front as the name suggests with the resolution of 1024 x 600. Not the best display on the world, but still going to be good enough as it has a pixel density of 171 PPI. The company didn’t mention anything about other specs, however, it has been reported that it comes with a quad-core MediaTek MT8163 processor. Sadly there’s no info about the amount of RAM inside.
The NOOK Tablet 7″ comes with 8GB of onboard storage which is expandable upto 128GB via a microSD card. Although it is not meant to solve the purpose of taking great pictures, it still comes with a 5MP rear camera. If you are a selfie lover and wants to take a selfie then they have got you covered as well as it comes with a 2MP front-facing selfie shooter. Other specs include a 3,000 mAh battery which should be good enough to keep you going for a long time.
It also comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack. If in case you are wondering, the tablet is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box as well. It will have all the access to your Google Play store and B&N readouts etc. which is pretty much a standard feature with their other tablets as well. However, if you are looking for something which is comparatively better than this, you can go for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A NOOK which we mentioned earlier as well.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A NOOK comes with 7-inch 1280 x 800 LCD and it is powered by a Snapdragon 410 SoC. This one also comes with all the goodness of B&N and Android services. If you don’t want to go with this one for $139 then you are better off with the NOOK Tablet 7″. Stay tuned for more info like this.
