Gionee M6 Lite Smartphone Launched in Kenya with 3GB RAM for $197

Gionee M6 Lite is a new Smartphone from Gionee which has been launched in Kenya for KSh 19,999 (approx $197). Earlier we have seen Gionee launching its flagship device Gionee S9 in China and the M6 Lite is the successor of the M6 Plus that was launched earlier along with M6. This lighter version of the M6 comes with downgraded specifications and will come with a metallic back design with narrow bezels on the sides in Mocha Gold color variant.
The metallic back will come with frosted texture and will come with 4000mAh non-removable Li-polymer battery with the fast-charge technology that also comes with 9V/2A dual-charge chip which charges the device in two hours. The Gionee S9 Lite comes with a 5-inch FHD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution giving a pixel density of 401ppi and also features a 2.5D glass.
Under the hood, there is a 1.8GHz 64-bit dual quad-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and Mali T860 GPU. The onboard memory on the device is 32GB which can be further extended up to a maximum of 256GB via microSD card slot. The handset will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Amigo 3.2 UI on the top.
On the camera front, there is a 13MP rear-facing camera with f/2.0 lens (Exmor-Rs CMOS sensor) with LED flash and autofocus and also includes features like Face detection, Panorama, smile detection and is also is also capable of capturing 1080p videos. There is a 5MP camera in the front with f/2.0 aperture and screen flash.
The other connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/c, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, USB OTG, Micro-USB port, 3.5mm audio jack and GPS/AGPS. The handset measures 152.3 mm × 75.3 mm x 8.2mm and weighs 180 grams. The M6 Lite supports 4G LTE Cat 4 150/50 Mbps, LTE Cat 6 300/50 Mbps OR LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800).
Looking at the pricing of the handset it will be competing against the devices like Xiaomi Note 3, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, Swipe Elite Plus, Lenovo Vibe K5, Asus Zenfone 2 Laser, Honor 4X and few other devices.
