You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Reliance Jio has been offering free services to achieve its target of 100 million new customers that was set to be achieved before 2017 begins. Jio will be charging its customers from next year and has now started working on the LTE-A rollout in major cities across India. This move is to counter the other networks who are building 4G networks in the last auction’s spectrum.

This kind of testing was conducted earlier also where Jio was testing the B3-B5 carrier aggregation in Kerala, and now similar tests are performed with B40-B40 aggregation in 16 different circles where it won the additional 10 MHz in the auction that was held recently.

The company has been working on this LTE-A network secretly and has been trying different options to boost the LTE A device sales with its smartphone unit LYF mobiles. As we know, LYF has only one LTE A phone which is dubbed as Future Ready, and we can expect more LTE A devices to be launched shortly.

Moreover, the reports also suggested that Initially Jio can cover all major cities and towns where the speeds have come down’ he added. Though if Jio starts offering LTE A networks in major cities and towns in next three months, it would put pressure on rival networks which lack enough 4G infrastructure and have just begun rollout of basic LTE networks in some cities.

Jio plans to offer the speeds of 175 Mbps of download speed with the carrier aggregation and make Jio network future ready with five times faster speeds. With this LTE A network, Jio will be giving its ARPU customers access to higher data speeds by paying for it. With Jio closing to 100 million customers across the country it will be trying to bring out more and more offers to its customers.

According to a report from Motilal Oswal the growth of Reliance Jio is slowing down by 50 percent, and a brokerage from the firm also told that after the launch of the Jio services the company has added 16 million subscribers in 25 days but was able to manage only 17-24 million subscribers in the next 45 days. The report also revealed that there had been 70 to 80 percent decline in the internet speed in the previous three months with increasing customers.

Earlier there was news about Reliance extending the Welcome offer with unlimited usage until March 2017 and was also a claim from Jio of crossing 16 Million Subscribers.
