You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
We have already seen the successor of Samsung Galaxy A7 surfacing on GFXBench and other benchmarking sites, now the Galaxy A7 (2017) with the model number SM-A720F has surfaced on import listing and will have the support of Bluetooth v4.2. We already know that this handset will come with 16MP camera on the rear as well as on the front side.
We have already seen few specifications of the Galaxy A7 (2017) and if you have missed them, the device will be sporting a 5.7-inch FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display and will come out of the box with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. Under the hood, there is a 1.87 GHz Octa-Core Exynos 7880 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and Mali-T830 GPU. There is a 3300 mAh battery on the back with adaptive fast charging support while it is touted to come with USB Type-C and fingerprint sensor.
Earlier: After launching the Galaxy A series in 2015, Samsung in 2016 updated the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 smartphones by launching the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016). Instead of Galaxy A8 that was launched in 2015, this year the company launched Galaxy A9 and Galaxy A9 Pro smartphones. As we are coming to the end of 2016, there are leaks about the 2017 Galaxy A series smartphones. Last month a new smartphone with the model number SM-A720X is listed on GFXbench. We expected that to be the Galaxy A7 (2017) since the Galaxy A7 (2016) came with the model number SM-A710X.
Today, Antutu has posted the key specifications of SM-A720F confirming the device name as Galaxy A7 (2017). As seen with earlier Galaxy A devices, we can confirm this device to feature all metal body. Along with Galaxy A7 (2017), the company might also launch the Galaxy A5 (2017). Talking about the Galaxy A7 2017 specifications, the device will be running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the TouchWiz UI laid on top. We can also expect the Android 7.0 Nougat update within a month or two after the launch. It sports a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A7 (2017) will be powered by the latest Exynos 7 Octa 7870 octa-core processor built on 14nm architecture and coupled with Mali T830 GPU. This is the same processor that also powers the Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy On NXT smartphones. It also includes 3GB RAM and 62GB of internal storage. There might also be a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion with the help of hybrid SIM slot. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE. While the all these specs are almost similar to last-gen Galaxy A7, the main improvements can found in the camera department.
The Galaxy A7 (2017) packs 16MP cameras on front and rear of the device but are limited to just Full HD video recording. Last week, the company has launched the Galaxy C9 Pro in China with the same 16MP + 16MP camera setup. It also supports NFC which coupled with fingerprint sensor makes the Galaxy A7 (2017) compatible with Samsung Pay. Along with 4G, the device also includes basic connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. There is no information about the battery capacity of the device.
A couple of days back, we also reported about the leaked images of the Galaxy A5 (2017) which hints at a slimmer metal body. As seen with the Galaxy A7 (2017), the Galaxy A5 (2017) with the model number SM-A520F also includes 3GB of RAM and run on the Marshmallow OS. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
