Xiaomi launches PM2.5 Detector Air Quality Monitor with Remote Monitoring & Night Mode
Recently we have seen Xiaomi announcing Mi Air Purifier Pro, now it has launched another smart home product in its home country called as the Xiaomi Mi PM 2.5 detector. This product is a compact air quality indicator which is targeted to work as a companion for the Mi Air Purifier and Mi Air Purifier 2 as they miss an OLED display which shows the air quality and few other parameters.
The PM2.5 detector has been tested on Weibo from few days and is now unveiled. This cuboidal shaped device will come with a compact size with a lower one back OLED screen and a high-precession laser sensor that can keep abreast of PM2.5 value which is a small particle that is harmful and contains toxins substance and also has a long residence time in the atmosphere.
With this gadget, the user will be able to set the air pollution Index range if there is excessive pollution and it also consists remote turn on the automatic cleaner to improve the air quality. The user also has the option of setting the time for closing the air purifier, and there is a night mode that will lower the brightness of the device so that the user does not get disturbed by the light.
The PM2.5 detector is a pocket-friendly device that easily fits into the pockets as the device weighs 100 grams and measures 62 mm x 62 mm x 32 mm in size. There is a built-in 750 mAh battery that can last up to 2-3 hours on single charge. There is an OLED display on the device will show the real-time metrics which includes the battery life, network strength and the quality of the air.
There is a horizontal line on the display that shows three different colors like Green, Orange and Red which indicates the quality of the air. This Phenomenon is scaled by the high precision laser sensor that can detect the particles that are present in the air with 0.3 micrometers in diameter. When the quality of the air is low, the Air purifiers will automatically turn on by reading the quality of the air from the PM2.5 detector.
The PM2.5 detector is priced at 399 Yuan (Approx $59) and can also purify the formaldehyde, allergens, smoke and other chemical harmful substances in the air which are the main reason for making a person sick. The device will go on sale starting November 11th, and it is listed on the official Xiaomi website.
