Yu has recently launched a new smartphone i.e., Yu Yunicorn priced at Rs 12,999. The device comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB as its internal storage and can be expanded to 128 GB using an external Micro SD card slot. You can also check the review of this smartphone which we have covered earlier on PhoneRadar. The Chipset on the device is MediaTek MT6755 Helio P100 Octa-Core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. It has 5.5-inch IPS display with 407 PPI and 1920 X 1080p as its resolution with 16M colors. How to insert the SIM card on your device?
The device comes with a non removable back panel hence the SIM card slot is on the left edge on your device. To insert the SIM card on your handset, push the SIM ejector Pin inside the port and remove the SIM card tray. Now place the SIM cards as per the marked direction and push the SIM card tray back. You have successfully inserted the SIM card on your device and will be ready for use in some time.
What is the type of SIM supported on this device?
The SIM card supported by the device is Nano SIM card with 4G connectivity on it. It also comes with a hybrid SIM card slot where you can either insert the SIM on the device or can expand the storage on your smartphone.
How to share your Data network via Tethering on the device?
Sharing of the data network can be done using the tethering Mode on your device. To share the data network on your smartphone, open the settings and tap on More in Wireless & network. In the new window, tap on Tethering & portable hotspot and click on Wi-Fi Hotspot. Further toggle the off button to enable that on your device. You can also set the network name and password by tapping on set up Wi-Fi hotspot.

To check for Android Updates on your device, open the settings and tap on system Updates. the device checks for updates and if there is no new update a message stating your device is up to date is displayed on your screen.

To install an app with external apk, you need to open the settings and tap on security. In the new window, you need to tap on Unknown Sources and click on the Ok button to enable the option on your device. Now you can install any app with an external app without interruption.

Power saving mode is used to enhance the battery life on your device during the low battery conditions. To use this on your device, open the settings and tap on battery. No there is no LED notification light available on the device.
How to use the Screen pinning feature on the Yu Yunicorn?
Screen pinning feature is available on the devices with Android Lollipop on it. The device comes with Android 5.1, so to use this feature on your device, open the settings and tap on Fingerprint & Security. In the new window, head over to the advanced section and tap on screen pinning. Further toggle the off button to enable that on your device. Now open the recent menu and tap on the pin button to pin the app on your home screen.

The device comes with BLE Manager, Browser, backup & reset, basic tools like Calendar, Camera, File Manager, Gallery and all the google related apps pre-installed on your device.

No, there is no such option available on the device using which you can move apps from internal to external storage on your device.
What are the bloatware applications on the device?
The Ganna Music app is the only bloatware application which is pre-installed on this smartphone.

The device comes with 32 GB as its internal storage and around 25.16 GB of free space is available for end user and rest of space is occupied by pre-installed apps and OS.

The device comes with 4 GB of RAM where 473MB of RAM is used by System, 191 MB of RAM is used by pre-installed Apps and 3.1 GB of RAM is available when no apps are running on device.

Yes, the device does support the USB OTG drive and helps in transferring the data from device to drive and vice-versa.

How to Add Fingerprint on your device?
The device comes with some advanced security settings like fingerprint sensor on it. To use this on your device, open the settings and tap Fingerprint & Security. In the new window, click on Screen lock and tap on fingerprint. You need to enter the previously set password to proceed further. Now tap in fingerprint manager and click on add a fingerprint. Further place the hand on fingerprint sensor and add the fingerprints on your device. Once the fingerprint is added toggle the off button adjacent to unlock screen by fingerprint and set a backup password for your device.
What is Around Yu and how to use that on your device?
Around Yu is the new feature which was launched by Yu televentures during the launch of Yu Yutopia. This is one of the interesting features launched by Yu last year. To use this on your Yu Yunicorn, you need to move to the left most window of your home screen, Where you will find few options like home, food, shopping, cab, travel, hotel, train, recharge. These option help you to adjust yourself to the new surroundings like when you tap on food option it will show you the restaurants, hotel option shows you the details of the hotel around your location. This application is associated with your Yu Account where you can make the payments of the desired option easily without any interruption.
What is Monochrome and how to enable that on your device?
Monochrome option is used to change the color from normal to black and white and vice-versa. To use this on your device, you need to press and hold the home screen until the display options appear on screen Now tap on Monochrome to change the filter of your device.
