Gionee S6 Pro with All-Metal Body to Launch on June 13th
Gionee confirmed to launch a new smartphone called Gionee S6 Pro in China on June 13th. The teaser image also hints that 97% of the device is occupied by metal. Apart from this, there are no more details about the upcoming device. We expect the Gionee GN9012 to be the Gionee S6 Pro that will be launched in the next week. The S6 Pro will be the successor to Elife S6 that was launched in China and India. It is the first smartphone from Gionee to launch in China with a USB Type-C port. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with highly customized Amigo UI laid on top.
The S6 Pro might feature a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display while the S6 came with the 5.5-inch display but the resolution is limited to 720 pixels. It comes powered by an unknown octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz; we expect it to be Snapdragon 652 chipset. It has 4GB of RAM which makes the multitasking much better when compared to S6 that includes only 3GB of RAM. It comes in 32GB and 64GB storage variants and also includes MicroSD card slot for further storage expansion.
In the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP selfie shooter. It is backed by a 3,130mAh non-removable battery which is slightly smaller than the 3,150mAh battery on Gionee S6. Unlike its predecessor, the Gionee S6 Pro features a physical home button on the front that comes integrated with the fingerprint sensor. Just the below the rear camera, we can spot the new logo of the brand. While the Gionee S6 came with a USB Type-C port, we can expect the upcoming S6 Pro to sports the same.
It supports dual SIM dual Standby with the help of hybrid SIM slots where the users can choose between the secondary SIM or the MicroSD card slot. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The device measures 153 x 75.3 x 7.6 mm and weighs 150 grams. Last the year the company also launched the Gionee S5.1 Pro as the successor to 5.1mm thick Elife S5.1. Since there is no confirmation the company, take this with a pinch of salt until there is an official announcement.
