LG K3 with 4.5″ IPS Display & Snapdragon 210 SoC Launched

The Korean smartphone manufacturer, LG launched yet another affordable low-end smartphone in the U.S called the LG K3. The LG K3 is available on the prepaid carriers Boost and Virgin Mobile. The smartphone offers entry-level specifications for the price and offers some interesting features. It is available for $79.99 (approx Rs. 5,400) and can be ordered online from Boost and Virgin store starting today. This smartphone comes with latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

The smartphone features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 210 SoC with a quad-core 1.1GHz CPU coupled with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. There is 8GB of onboard storage of which only 3.1GB is available to the user. On the camera side, it has a 5-megapixel shooter at the back and a 0.3-megapixel front facing camera. The internals of this device is powered by a small 1940mAh removable battery, which should last easily through a day.

Some other interesting features include a voice command that lets you click the picture. It’s called the Cheese shutter. It also has Gesture function that snaps a photo with a gesture by your hands, and a gesture interval shot is also there which starts a timer with a gesture and takes perfect timed selfies. If you want a higher quality image from the front-facing camera, then there is a selfie light which will provide a soft light around the photo preview. LG has targeted the affordable market segment through their K series line up, and this is no exception.

Both the prepaid carriers are offering exciting offers on the smartphone starting today where you get unlimited calls, text and data(2GB LTE) for 35$ from Boost and unlimited call, text and data(4GB LTE) from Virgin Mobile. Data caps from both the carriers can be increased for an additional cost. If you are looking for a slightly better smartphone with upgraded specifications, then check out the LG K8. It packs a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a Mediatek MT6735 Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM. You also get a microSD card expansion option with that.
