Honor 5C with Kirin 650 SoC & 3,000mAh Battery Officially Launched in China
Honor has officially launched the entry-level Honor 5C smartphone today in China. It is the direct successor for the popular Honor 4C which was launched last year. The device sports a unibody design with a metallic frame around it. The device is priced very aggressively at 899 Yuan and can be a good alternative for already launched Xiaomi Redmi 3 and Meizu M3.
As leaked earlier, the Honor 5C is the first device to use in-house Kirin 650 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. It is built on the 16nm FinFet process same as the Snapdragon 820, Apple A9, Kirin 950 and Exynos 8890 chipsets. It features a 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution while the Honor 4C launched with just 720p display.
It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto 128GB. In the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash. For selfies, it sports an 8MP sensor with the same f/2.0 aperture and 77 degrees wide-angle lens. The device runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based customized EMUI 4.1 overlaid.
The Honor 5C is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery that is rated to deliver 19 hours of talk time and lasts upto 610 hours on standby mode. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE along with VoLTE. The 2nd Gen fingerprint sensor on this device can be unlocked in just 0.5 seconds. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 147.1 x 73.8 x 8.3 mm and weighs about 156 grams. The Honor 5C comes in Dark Gray and Space Silver colors and is priced at 899 Yuan (approx $139 / Rs. 9,200). Currently, the device is available for pre-orders and the sales starts from May 5th in China.
