ZTE A2017 (AXON 2) with 5.5″ 2K Display & Snapdragon 820 SoC Spotted on TENAA
Last month a new ZTE smartphone with the model number A2017 was spotted on GFXbench. The device which we expected to be the second generation device in the Axon series features flagship specifications. Though the specifications of the device are revealed, we didn’t get the first look of the device. But today’s TENAA listing shows the design of the device along with the complete specifications. Along with the device, the company will also offer a leather case within the package.
As seen with the earlier Axon smartphones, the A2017 also comes with an all metal body featuring dual front facing speakers. It sports a 5.5-inch OLED display with QuadHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clocked at 2.1GHz and coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. It includes 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally upto 128GB via MicroSD card slot.
It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the customized MiFavor UI overlaid. The A2017 packs a 20MP rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8MP front camera for selfies. There is a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device that can be used as a shutter button while the camera app is opened. It is backed by a 3,140mAh non-removable battery and is expected to support Quick Charging. It measures 154 x 77 x 9.8 mm and weighs 175 grams.
The volume rocker along with the power button are placed on the right edge of the device. It comes with both GSM and CDMA support and offers 4G LTE. Connectivity on this device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, and GPS. As of there is no information about the USB port but we are sure that the device might feature USB Type-C port. With the TENAA listing, the official launch is imminent and can be expected in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!
