Lenovos ZUK Z2 Pro with Snapdragon 820 SoC & 6GB RAM Launched
ZUK is the Lenovo’s online only brand that was launched to compete against the likes of Xiaomi and OnePlus. The ZUK Z1 is the first smartphone from the brand that was launched in August 2015. Instead of going with the flagship specs, the company went for some high-end specs which in return helped the device to be priced aggressively at around $300. Along with China, the device is made available in Europe and other Asian countries.
Now in 2016, the company launched the new flagship smartphone ZUK Z2 Pro, which will be the successor for ZUK Z1. It comes with glass on front and back of the device with a metallic frame holding the device together. The Z2 Pro features 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It has a Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top which makes the display scratch proof.
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clocked at 2.15GHz along with Adreno 530 GPU. The device comes in two variants with 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage. In the camera department, it has a 13MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, dual tone LED flash and 6P lens. It comes with PDAF & CAF dual focus mode for better focusing. On the front is an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 78.9 degrees wide angle lens.
The physical home button present on the front also houses the fingerprint sensor which can unlock the device in just 0.1 seconds. It is backed by a 3,100mAh non-removable with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ZUI 2.0 laid on top. It comes with dual SIM dual standby support with offers 4G LTE with VoLTE. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/GLONASS, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port.
It also features several health-related sensors including heart rate and UV sensors. Coming to the pricing, the 6GB variant is priced at 2699 Yuan while the 4GB variant price will be announced soon. The 6GB variant will be available in White and Titanium colors while the 4GB variant is limited to just White color. As of now there is no information about the international availability of the device. In India, last years ZUK Z1 will be officially launched by Lenovo in the next few weeks.
